This month’s update features some of the stunning and original Op Art work of Orang Vahid.
Originally working with a pen, paper, a ruler and a compass, Orang has been creating Op Art – or as he calls it ‘Geometric Art’ – for over 20 years. When he started to use computers and in particular Microsoft’s ‘Word’ application in his academic work, Orang was curious to find out what else the software was capable of, particularly the ‘Draw’ utility. Several years on and it is fair to say that he has mastered that utility; incredibly all of Orang’s work displayed here was created within the minimalistic ‘Draw’ environment of Microsoft Word. To get an understanding of how Orang achieves this please see here and here.
We are very much looking forward to displaying more of Orang’s work in the near future. In the meanwhile, if you would like to see more, you can find some on his flickr stream.
